greentech at Intersolar Europe Conference 2022 in Munich

Hamburg, June 13th, 2022 – This year's Intersolar Europe in Munich showed that the PV industry is booming. With over 65,000 visitors from almost 150 countries, the event counted around 1/3 more visitors than the last regular Intersolar before the Corona pandemic in 2019. In addition to current trends such as PV storage solutions, technologies such as agri and floating PV or increasing power purchase agreements (PPAs), supply bottlenecks of components, the shortage of skilled workers in the industry and regulatory requirements were also discussed. greentech joined the trade fair with over 25 PV experts to meet customers and suppliers as [...]

greentech offers feasibility analysis for rooftop PV systems

Hamburg, April 22nd, 2022 – The PV specialist greentech recently started offering feasibility analyses for the technical and economic realisation of rooftop PV systems. The experts of greentech, headquartered in Hamburg, assess the characteristics of the available roof area and the possibility of electrical integration of the PV system into the building. In addition to a proven plant design individually developed and optimised for the respective roof, the client also receives estimates of the PV plant's energy production, anticipated CO2 savings and the expected economic payback period. Rooftop PV systems increasingly a legal obligation The offer applies to [...]

Solar power targets welcomed — but more action needed

UK-based solar energy specialist greentech today welcomed moves to triple the number of solar panels across the UK by 2030 — but said the Government must do more to make it happen. Leaked details ahead of the publication of the Government’s energy security white paper suggest that official targets for solar power generation will soar from the current capacity of 14GW to 50GW over the next eight years. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy says it also wants to see big increases in offshore and onshore wind power and a doubling of the country’s nuclear power capacity over the same [...]

Challenges and benefits of inverter repowering

To replace the inverters of your PV plant can make sense not only when the old components already show defects. New components can noticeably increase the yield of a photovoltaic system. Therefore, an investment in repowering can pay off relatively quickly – depending on the age of the system – as the feed-in tariff of subsidised plants can compensate for a large part of the investment costs. This is particularly interesting if you want to operate the plant for as long as possible after the subsidy period. A conversation about inverter repowering with the greentech repowering experts Michael Strübing, Key [...]

Bankable yield assessments for photovoltaic projects

"During preparation of the yield study, optimisation potential for the plant layout can still be identified". The yield analysis is indispensable for financing and reselling projected PV systems. "The yield report serves as a basis in purchase or sales negotiations. It objectively and professionally substantiates the expected yield and is the main argument for the offered purchase or sales price," explains Johannes Liebich, Head of Engineering & Technical Advisory at greentech. "Nowadays also every bank requires a yield assessment for the photovoltaic systems they are financing: Only with this, a realistic assessment of the profitability is possible." [...]

“The aging and reasons for malfunctions of photovoltaic systems become visible all at once.”

Interview with Jörn Carstensen, Managing Director at greentech and Dr.-Ing. Michael Jordan, CTO at morEnergy about the collaboration between the two companies and the energy transition. Mr. Carstensen, Mr. Jordan, thank you very much for taking the time today. Please tell us why and how the cooperation between greentech and morEnergy came about. Carstensen: greentech is a fully integrated PV company and, in the service provider sector, takes care of the technical and commercial operational management and engineering of photovoltaic systems. The topic of power quality of the grids is therefore of great relevance to us in [...]
