At the same time, the IT security of the new system, entrusted to us, and the existing system should not suffer. Direct marketing needs to be possible for both systems individually and we do not want to replace the entire technology (including that of the existing system) due to cost efficiency reasons. <\/p>\n<p>The solution: We developed and implemented a customised communication and control concept, including an individually programmed firewall for communication between the existing higher-level Power Plant Controller (PPC) and the new downstream PPC, thus ensuring that only the absolutely necessary data can pass between the two components. This prevents possible access from external sources and the IT security of the new system is not jeopardised by any gaps in the communication concept of the existing system.
