Construction and acceptance supervision for energy projects
We provide supervision for PV plants, battery energy storage systems, and substations – from the construction phase to handover.
Ensure technical quality – reduce project risks during construction.
Construction and acceptance supervision with greentech
With our construction supervision, we support you during the construction phase of your PV, BESS, or substation project, ensuring through recurring inspections that construction is carried out according to plans and standards, and in compliance with design documents.
This allows potential defects to be identified early, addressed specifically, and reduces risks of delays, rework, and additional costs until commissioning.
For acceptance, we accompany you with visual inspections of mechanical and electrical main components, verify the rectification of known issues, and conduct an “as-built” documentation check – including a report and presentation of the results.
Construction and acceptance supervision for PV, BESS, and substation projects
Our construction and acceptance supervision is tailored to the structural specifics and requirements of PV systems, large-scale battery storage, and substations.
Photovoltaics (PV)
We inspect the execution of your PV system throughout the construction phases and during acceptance directly at the critical main components – and ensure documentation compliance with standards.
This includes, among others:
Module installation
Cabling & DC sub-distribution
Inverters
Transformer & substation
On-site technical supervision during construction phase & acceptance
Documentation check according to applicable grid operator specifications and relevant standards for technical execution.
Defect tracking and report
Battery Storage (BESS)
Considering the relevant standards and guidelines for battery storage systems (BESS), we supervise your BESS from the construction phase to acceptance, including visual inspections of the mechanical and electrical execution of the main components. This includes, among others:
Battery storage containers
Battery inverters
Battery transformers
On-site technical supervision during construction phase & acceptance
Documentation check based on checklist / best practice approach (project-specific) and applicable grid operator specifications, as well as relevant standards for technical execution
Defect tracking and report
Substations (UW)
We supervise the construction of the substation as an independent sub-project until acceptance. This includes, among others:
High-voltage transformer
Buildings / foundations / major components
On-site technical supervision during construction phase & acceptance
Documentation check based on grid operator specifications and relevant standards for technical execution
Defect tracking and report
When is construction and acceptance supervision beneficial?
If you want to independently verify execution quality
Especially as a project owner or future operator, you want to know early on whether the execution matches the design documents and if the quality “in the field” is satisfactory. Our spot on-site inspections during construction supervision provide you with an independent, verifiable assessment – without interrupting the construction process.
If you want to identify and address deviations early
Many defects can be remedied more easily and cost-effectively in early construction phases than shortly before acceptance. Recurring appointments during key phases reveal deviations before they become integrated into other trades or lead to delays and additional costs.
If you want to set inspection priorities along the construction schedule
Not every construction site requires the same depth of inspection everywhere – critical construction sections and interfaces are decisive. We coordinate the focus points with you before each appointment based on the construction schedule, so that inspections are carried out where the risk to quality, acceptance security, and later operational management is particularly high.
When multiple parties are involved (e.g., Owner, EPC, Advisor)
In projects with multiple parties involved, technical questions often arise at handovers, responsibility boundaries, or interpretations of planning statuses. A structured, neutral overview helps to objectify discussions, clearly identify open points, and efficiently coordinate their resolution – especially before acceptance.
If you want to systematically track identified defects
A punch list is an effective tool for cleanly documenting and prioritizing findings or defects, and for maintaining transparency regarding responsibilities and statuses. As part of construction supervision, we can support defect tracking upon request, ensuring that known issues are not lost and can be verifiably checked for acceptance.
If thorough acceptance preparation is a priority
For acceptance, we accompany you with spot visual inspections of mechanical and electrical main components and check whether known defects from previous appointments have been rectified. This creates a reliable basis for the acceptance decision – technically sound, documented, and with a clear status of open items.
If documentation needs to be "ready for acceptance"
Incomplete or inconsistent documentation is a common reason for delays in acceptance and handover to operation. With the documentation check based on a checklist / as-built, we support you in systematically reviewing project documentation and identifying missing or implausible content early.
If you need a better overview on large or complex construction sites
Depending on the project setup, supplementary construction site documentation can help to make progress more comprehensible and substantiate findings. For this purpose, we also use drone technology if necessary – e.g., to capture the construction site from different perspectives and better assess construction progress over time (project and approval dependent).
Our approach:
Structured process for optimal results
Kick-off & document coordination
Goals, relevant documents, construction schedule
Focus plan per appointment
Before each inspection, coordinated with you as the client
On-site appointments & spot checks
Findings, punch list & coordination with parties (within agreed scope)
Verification of known issues
Follow-up via subsequent appointments/review
Acceptance supervision, document check, and presentation of results
incl. acceptance protocol input, as-built / handover documentation & remaining item tracking
Four good reasons
for construction and acceptance supervision
Early defect detection and rectification
Inspections during key phases make defects visible early and more manageable to rectify.
Ensure plan and standard conformity from the outset
Deviations from design documents, as well as requirements from standards like TAB/TAR, can be identified and rectified early through construction supervision.
Ensure handover with consistent documentation
A structured documentation check ensures that as-built documents, test protocols, and proofs are complete and consistent.

Clarity on need for action and decision
An overview of the status quo serves as a basis for action and coordination for internal stakeholders and executing parties.

Tracking of a punch list within the scope of construction and acceptance supervision
Drone support for site overview/progress tracking, where appropriate
Acceptance supervision without prior construction supervision
As required, we also offer individual acceptance supervision without prior construction supervision. In this case, there are no appointments for various construction phases; instead, the focus is on the acceptance appointment and the handover of “as-built” construction documentation.
Pure acceptance supervision can be beneficial if an independent visual inspection of the essential components is desired at the acceptance date, but the process of construction supervision and tracking has already been carried out internally. Perhaps you also need an objective assessment of defects found so far and wish to verify and document them systematically before acceptance.
Please contact us if you require acceptance supervision as a standalone service.

FAQ – construction and acceptance supervision
for energy projects
Quality assurance from the construction phase to commissioning of PV systems, BESS, and substations
What is the goal of construction and acceptance supervision?
The goal is to ensure the quality of execution throughout the construction phase through regular, spot checks and to reduce risks of rework, delays, and additional costs until commissioning.
Which projects does greentech typically supervise?
The service is designed for PV, BESS, and substation projects – each with a focus on the relevant main components and interfaces of the sub-project.
How does supervision proceed during the construction phase – "full-time" on site?
Supervision is regular but serves as a spot quality control – not as permanent construction monitoring. This allows critical points to be addressed specifically without replacing the roles of EPC/Construction Management.
Can I commission individual acceptance supervision if I handle construction supervision myself?
Yes. Even if you handle Construction monitoring it yourself, you can commission us as Owner’s Engineer specifically for neutral acceptance supervision – as an independent (“second pair of eyes”) for handover, defect documentation and
What exactly does acceptance supervision include?
greentech supports the acceptance process, including visual inspections of key mechanical and electrical components and verification that all known outstanding items have been addressed. The findings are documented and presented to the agreed scope.
What is checked during the documentation review?
We check the handover and as-built documentation (as-built/revision documents) for completeness and plausibility within the agreed scope. The check is carried out according to DIN standards (e.g., DIN EN 62446) and, depending on the project, considers grid operator specifications or project-specific checklists/best practice approaches.
