Asset Management
We offer attractive and sustainable investment opportunities in the growth markets of photovoltaics and battery energy storage systems.
Creating value:
With investments in photovoltaics and battery storage projects
As a fully integrated Asset Manager, greentech offers institutional investors the opportunity to invest in high-yield and sustainably designed investments in the renewable energy sector.
In doing so, we focus both on greentech’s long-standing core business, photovoltaics, and on the complementary growth market of battery energy storage systems (BESS). Thanks to the lowest levelized cost of electricity of PV compared to other energy production sources and diversified electricity marketing strategies, the photovoltaics and battery storage sectors, especially in combination, now offer investments with attractive risk-return profiles.

Our responsibility
Renewable energies and battery energy storage systems provide great added value for the environment, society and the economy. Investments in these projects actively contribute to the energy transition and promote the development towards a more sustainable, lower-emission economy.
To ensure that this succeeds in the best possible and safest way, we create a high level of transparency about our sustainability activities and are committed to the successful and ecological expansion of green energy within the framework of various memberships.
We are a member of the UN Global Compact and support the ten principles for a more social and ecological globalization
To increase the transparency of our sustainability activities, we have been voluntarily publishing a sustainability report every year since 202.
We are also a member of Solar Power Europe, the Solar Stewardship Initiative, the Bundesverband Neue Energiewirtschaft, the Bundesverband Energiespeicher Systeme e.V. and Cluster Renewable Energy Hamburg.

Questions & Answers on Investment Structures, Portfolio Management and Fully Integrated PV & BESS Asset Management
What distinguishes greentech as a fully-integrated asset manager?
greentech unites all downstream stages of the PV and BESS value chain under one roof: in-house project development, engineering, EPC, and technical and commercial asset management. This integrated approach provides exclusive access to projects from their earliest stages, ensures greater quality control across the entire lifecycle, and embeds deep technical know-how into the structuring process from day one – creating optimised risk-return profiles.
What is the advantage of having exclusive access to an in-house project pipeline?
Our own project development in Germany, the UK, and Italy allows us to identify and structure attractive investment opportunities at an early stage, tailored to investor requirements. This gives you access to more favourable entry conditions, greater transparency on project risks, and the ability to actively shape plant design and commercialisation strategies.
How does greentech structure investments for institutional investors?
We develop bespoke investment structures at the SPV and portfolio level, designed to meet individual requirements for risk appetite, return expectations, holding periods, and ESG criteria. We arrange debt financing, manage the entire acquisition and delivery process, and implement diversified power commercialisation strategies (merchant, feed-in tariffs, PPAs, CfDs) to optimise cash flow stability.
What role does technical expertise play in your asset management approach?
With over 15 years of O&M and engineering experience, our technical expertise is integral to our process from the very beginning. It informs project selection, technical due diligence, and structuring. We identify technical risks early, optimise plant design for maximum availability and minimal O&M costs, and uncover yield potential that purely financial analysis might miss. During operation, this ensures sustained performance optimisation.
How does greentech manage PV and BESS projects during the construction phase?
We manage project delivery either through our in-house EPC division or with qualified partners, always enforcing strict quality management, risk control, and schedule monitoring. Integrating asset management with construction allows us to better assess construction risks, prevent change orders, and ensure plants are delivered on-spec and on-budget for predictable commissioning and performance.
What power commercialisation strategies does greentech offer?
We develop diversified commercialisation strategies that blend merchant revenues, feed-in tariffs, long-term PPAs, and Contracts for Difference (CfDs). The strategy is tailored to the specific market environment, plant characteristics, and investor preferences. For BESS projects, we leverage multiple revenue streams, including balancing services, arbitrage, and grid services, to maximise revenue and stabilise cash flows.
How does greentech optimise assets during the operational phase?
Through active portfolio management at both the SPV and asset level, we continuously identify potential for technical and commercial optimisation. This includes performance analysis, commercial strategy refinement, O&M efficiencies, repowering, and contract renegotiations. Our close integration with our technical and commercial operations teams enables rapid implementation and delivers measurable performance improvements throughout the asset’s lifetime.
What experience does the greentech asset management team have?
Our leadership team has extensive institutional experience. CIO Felix von Buchwaldt has over 25 years of experience in project finance and asset management, including as CEO of Nordcapital with an investment volume of EUR 7 billion in infrastructure real assets. Managing Director Fabian Wany brings international EPC and development experience from his time at Conergy and the Green Investment Group (Macquarie). This expertise ensures institutional-grade standards in structuring, risk management, and portfolio governance.
How does greentech ensure transparency and ESG compliance?
greentech is a member of the UN Global Compact and has published a voluntary annual sustainability report since 2022. We are active in the Solar Stewardship Initiative, SolarPower Europe, and other key industry associations. Our investment structures are designed to meet institutional ESG requirements and provide investors with transparent impact reporting for Article 8/9 funds under SFDR.
Which types of investors are your asset management structures suitable for?
Our structures are designed for institutional investors (such as insurance companies, pension funds, and infrastructure funds) and family offices seeking long-term, inflation-linked cash flows from renewable energy. We offer both core investments in operational plants and core-plus/value-add strategies involving projects in development or construction, each with an individually tailored risk-return profile.
Which markets does greentech focus on for asset management?
We focus on Germany, the UK, and Italy – established markets with stable regulatory frameworks, liquid power markets, and attractive support schemes. Our local presence and years of market experience enable us to better assess country-specific risks, anticipate regulatory shifts, and capitalise on market opportunities, creating diversified and resilient portfolios.
How does greentech combine PV and BESS investments for an optimised portfolio?
Combining PV (offering the lowest levelised cost of electricity and predictable generation) with BESS (providing flexibility, grid services, and arbitrage opportunities) creates complementary revenue streams and diversifies risk. We structure hybrid portfolios that capitalise on synergies such as shared grid connections, optimised land use, and integrated commercialisation strategies to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.
