Technical EPC tendering
We ensure precise technical tendering for EPC services, comparable bids, and informed decisions – for quality, certainty, and long-term project success.
Creating comparability and transparency – for informed decisions
Technical tendering as a basis for quality and economic success of PV, BESS and substation projects.
A well-founded technical tender for EPC services is crucial for the quality, economic efficiency, and long-term success of a PV, BESS, or substation project. As an independent technical consultant, greentech prepares structured tender documents for your project, comprehensively evaluates incoming bids, and supports you in making technically sound decisions with EPCs and suppliers. In doing so, we create transparency, make bids comparable, and provide a reliable basis for awarding contracts.

Technical EPC tendering for
Solar Parks, Battery Storage, and Substations
Photovoltaics (PV)
For photovoltaic projects, we prepare structured technical tender documents covering all essential aspects of design, component selection, DC/AC design, yield assumptions, and construction quality. We define clear minimum technical requirements, check incoming EPC bids for plausibility and comparability, and evaluate, among other things, plant design, string concepts, cable lengths, yield simulations, and quality approaches. The goal is a reliable decision-making basis that considers both economic efficiency and long-term operational reliability.
Battery Storage (BESS)
For battery storage projects, the focus is on the clear technical definition of system architecture, performance, capacity, operating strategy, and grid integration. We structure the tender so that storage technology, inverter concept, control and protection technology, safety requirements, as well as warranty and degradation assumptions can be evaluated transparently and comparably. We analyze the bids particularly with regard to technical design, interfaces to the grid connection and the superordinate plant control, and the feasibility of the intended operating mode.
Substations (SS)
For substations, we support the preparation of technical tenders that focus on AC-side system integration. This includes switchgear concepts, protection and control technology, transformer design, measurement concepts, and compliance with grid operator-specific and normative requirements. We check bids for technical completeness, interface clarity, and feasibility, thereby creating a sound basis for a secure, compliant, and timely connection of PV and BESS projects to the grid.
Comprehensive consultation at all times in the technical tendering of EPC and supplier services
Structured tender documents with high comparability
greentech creates technically clear, fully structured bills of quantities and planning specifications. This makes bids transparent, directly comparable, and reliably evaluable – without room for interpretation to the detriment of the client.
Technical evaluation with a focus on yield, operation, and quality
Incoming bids are not only formally checked but also technically classified: plant design, planning specifications, component selection, and expected yields are critically evaluated – always with a view to long-term operability and economic efficiency.
Independent owner's engineer perspective
As an independent technical consultant, greentech exclusively represents the interests of the client. Our experts objectively evaluate bids from EPCs and suppliers in the technical tender, question assumptions, and support in making technically and economically viable decisions. We are well-established in the market for many years, excellently networked, and in contact with various stakeholders such as general contractors or EPCs.
Practical knowledge from planning, construction, and operation
Our technical tenders are based on many years of experience from real projects. This means we consider not only design and construction but also later requirements for operation, maintenance, and documentation – a decisive advantage over purely theoretical tenders.
Technical support in bidding phase and negotiation
greentech actively accompanies the entire tendering process, clarifies technical queries with providers, and supports negotiations on equal terms. This ensures a sensible balance between technical quality, contract content, and price-performance.
Tendering with a focus on implementation and certification
greentech consistently thinks beyond the bidding phase in technical EPC tendering. Already during the preparation of the tender documents, we consider requirements for grid connection, plant certification, acceptance, and trial operation. This ensures that the proposed solutions are not only technically comparable but also realistically implementable and certifiable – and avoids later discrepancies, additional claims, or costly adjustments during the realization phase.

FAQ: Technical EPC tendering
Frequently asked questions about tender documents, specifications, and comparison of EPC bids.
What is technical EPC tendering?
Technical EPC tendering involves the preparation of structured tender documents for general contractors (EPCs), including technical specifications, bills of quantities, and planning guidelines. The goal is to make bids comparable, create transparency, and provide a sound basis for the award decision.
What services does greentech provide as part of the tendering?
We prepare the technical tender documents, send them to the providers, analyze the incoming bids, and evaluate them professionally. We also accompany the entire process, advise on bidder queries, and support technical negotiations to secure the best combination of price, quality, and layout.
Does greentech also check bids for plant design and yield forecasts?
Yes, we analyze the incoming bids regarding the plant layout, occupancy planning, and expected yields to provide you with a reliable basis for decision-making.
For whom is technical EPC tendering with greentech useful?
- For developers or owners who want to outsource the tendering process
- For projects where no internal team is currently available for tendering
- For investors who require comparability and transparency in supplier bids
- For clients seeking support in evaluating and selecting the best bid
How does greentech ensure comparability and quality?
Through structured technical tender documents with clearly defined specifications for components, layout, design, cable lengths, and documentation, we ensure that all bids are comparable. At the same time, there is room for innovative solutions from providers.
How is technical negotiation support provided?
We maintain close contact with the client during bid review and queries, clarify open points with providers, and support negotiations on equal terms, ensuring optimal consideration of technical quality, economic efficiency, and feasibility.
Are requirements for grid connection and plant certification already considered in the tender?
Yes. In the technical EPC tendering, we consciously ensure that requirements for grid connection, plant certification, acceptance, and trial operation are already considered in the tender documents. This ensures that the proposed concepts are not only price-attractive but also technically feasible and certifiable later. This significantly reduces the risk of additional claims, replanning, or delays in the realization phase.
