06 May 2026, Aachen, Hamburg – In Groß Laasch, south of Schwerin, the Hamburg-based solar and storage specialist greentech has constructed a grey electricity battery energy storage system with a capacity of 27 MWh for municipal project developer Trianel over the past few months. The system was installed alongside a 16 MWp photovoltaic plant, which was also realised by greentech in 2025 and commissioned at the end of that year. The scope of services included engineering, mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning, as well as grid integration and certification — the latter being particularly complex due to the shared grid connection with an existing PV plant.
“The battery storage system in Groß Laasch is the first grey electricity asset in the Trianel portfolio. We are convinced that ground-mounted PV plants can only reach their full potential for the energy transition when combined with storage,” says Andreas Lemke, Head of Solar at Trianel. “Therefore, we factor in storage solutions from the project development stage and also assess existing sites for integration opportunities. With greentech, we have had an experienced partner by our side for years, and together we have successfully delivered on this goal in Groß Laasch.”
“We have successfully built and commissioned the first large-scale battery storage system for Trianel — a true milestone for greentech. We are particularly pleased that, in addition to the turnkey construction, we were also awarded the O&M mandate for the battery system. This allows greentech to strategically expand its capabilities in the direction of BESS and co-location. The smooth construction process and seamless grid integration make me extremely proud of the team involved. We would like to thank Trianel for the collaborative partnership and their trust in working with us to deliver these pioneering projects,” says Jörn Carstensen, Chief Technical Officer for greentech.
Beyond Groß Laasch, further joint PV and BESS projects between Trianel and greentech are already in preparation, with realisation planned over the course of the year.greentech Pressekontakt
