Hamburg, 16th May 2024 – The 63 MVA transformer forms the grid connection point for the Agethorst solar power plant with around 71 MWp currently under construction in the Schleswig-Holstein district of Steinburg, developed by Hamburg-based photovoltaics specialist greentech.
The high-voltage connection is located in the major grid operator substation in Bokhorst, which Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG built in 2022 to improve the connection of new photovoltaic and wind energy plants.
As the plant owner, greentech took over the draft planning of the grid connection from 2021, later tendering and awarding the contract to a general contractor and obtaining all approvals. After the start of construction in September 2023, greentech coordinated the construction with all partners and manufacturers involved until full commissioning. ‘A particular challenge in this project was being able to stick to the specified commissioning deadline despite the unfinished route,’ explains Christopher Haß, Team Leader Grid Connection at greentech. After all, postponing deadlines in times of tight personnel and construction capacities can delay a project like this by months. ‘Our partners set up a temporary earthing point to carry out the earthing measurement and thus enabled commissioning to take place on schedule,’ continues Haß.
Construction was carried out on a turnkey basis by leading plant installer WT Energiesysteme GmbH. Project manager Markus Bauer comments: ‘The cooperation with greentech and our subcontractors was exceptionally good and contributed significantly to the success of the Bokhorst project. After commissioning, the plant is going to be taken over by the technical operations manager, Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG.
With the successful realisation of the high-voltage connection and the Agethorst solar park, which is scheduled to be commissioned at the beginning of June, greentech can expand its realised project development portfolio from medium-voltage systems to high-voltage systems. Following the Bokhorst substation, further high-voltage projects are already in the pipeline.
