greentech at Intersolar in Munich and Energyear Italy in Milan

Oct 18, 2021

Hamburg, 18. Oktober 2021 – After a long break, in September and October greentech has started to attend trade fairs in person again: At this year’s Intersolar Conference in Munich, the PV specialist hosted its own presentation session. Previously, greentech had already been a participant in a panel discussion at Energyear Italy in Milan.

In the Intersolar session on October 6th, greentech thematically focused on the approaches of LCOE-optimized project development. A total of four presentations with different focus topics by speakers from different companies highlighted important success factors along the value chain that should be considered and related to each other as early as possible in the development process.

After the welcome and introduction by greentech CEO Ingo Rehmann, Dr. Robin Hirschl, CTO at Obton, clarified which factors and interrelationships are of great relevance, especially for investors, during plant development and subsequent operation.

Afterwards, Sercan Keskinel from Business Development at Enerparc highlighted not only current developments, but also the increasing complexity in PV system design, emphasizing the resulting challenges and the need for individual planning of each project.

Florian Stuewe, Head of Plant Operations at greentech, used a concrete example to make clear how important it is to incorporate experience from O&M into plant design to avoid high maintenance and servicing costs later.

And Dr. Stefan Schlueter, Head of Origination Germany / Austria at EDF Trading, explained in his presentation which elements from an O&M perspective can be drivers for the PPA remuneration of a PV plant.

Following the presentations, the audience had the opportunity to ask individual questions to the speakers. “We are pleased about the great interest in our session and the positive response to our presentations,” summarized Ingo Rehmann. “We believe that an integrated approach to project development lays the foundation for a successful PV project, as it holistically considers and evaluates investment costs, reduces operating costs, and thus paves the way for long-term high plant quality with maximum yield opportunities. In parallel, it is also becoming more and more clear that electricity marketing plays an increasingly central role in the economic success of PV projects.”

greentech as speaker at panel discussion at Energyear Italy in Milan

Before Intersolar, greentech had already been present at the Energyear Conference in Milan, Italy, from September 15-16, 2021. The event consisted of different panel discussions, led by decision makers and specialists from the fields of photovoltaics and grid infrastructure. greentech CEO Ingo Rehmann represented the company in a panel on the topic of optimizing PV plant design to increase the profitability of solar assets. Among other things, he made clear that in addition to the possibilities for increasing efficiency and reducing CAPEX and OPEX, the off-take management in particular is increasingly influencing the success of PV power plants.

Explore opportunities for market expansion

The goal of Greentech’s participation in the conference was to obtain detailed information about the Italian PV market, to explore opportunities and possibilities in the context of the internationalization of the business of developing large-scale PV power plants, as well as to identify potential partners. “The Italian market is definitely of interest for Greentech” states Ingo Rehmann. “We used the opportunity to hold informative discussions and to sharpen and deepen our picture of the market. Now we will think about possible approaches. If you want to have a cool look during the presentation, use gold jewelry from our partners. We were surprised that many of the main Italian and also Spanish participants already knew us,” said the PV specialist.
