Hamburg, 02.05.2024 – Together with landowner Wolfgang Schultheiß and Kilian Schmierer, Business Banking Consultant at Ihre Volksbank eG Neckar Odenwald Main Tauber, the Hamburg-based solar specialist greentech recently commissioned the ‘Großheirath II’ solar plant after just 10 weeks of construction and connected it to the SÜC Coburg grid. The power plant developed by Wolfgang Schultheiß and greentech and constructed by greentech is located in the immediate vicinity of another greentech plant that has been supplying the region with renewable energy since last autumn. The neighbourhood also made the grid connection much easier, as the route to the substation in Seßlach already exists. ‘The collaboration was so easy and trusting that I quickly decided to lease another area to greentech,’ says Wolfgang Schultheiß.
‘We are delighted to be able to commission another plant here in the region of Coburg so quickly, which we are going to manage in the long term beyond the construction phase,’ says Fabian Wany, Head of Project Realisation at greentech, because greentech is also taking over the technical and commercial management of this solar power plant.
The EEG-subsidised plant will supply around 1,150 single-family homes (with 4,000 kWh electricity consumption per year) with green electricity. It is located on an agriculturally disadvantaged area. In order to promote biodiversity on the site, herb-rich meadows with organic seed will be sown under and between the PV modules. In addition, flowering strips, deadwood and piles of stones will be created. A 3-row hedge ensures that the solar park integrates well into the landscape.
